AT a dinner held on July 3 at Todmorden Old Hall Restaurant, a new Todmorden Rotary Club year was marked by the hand over of presidency from George Lambert, pictured left, to Paul Hughes.
In his opening speech Mr Hughes remarked on the activities that the Rotary movement achieves locally, nationally and internationally.
He said these included activities like providing fragrant bulbs to the blind at Christmas in Todmorden to the massive international response there was when the great Tsunami struck over two years ago.
It is Paul's second tenure of the presidency - he was president in 2002-3.
The guest speaker at the dinner was Mrs Sue Steven, who spoke on the care her Calderdale Council department extends to children who need special attention.
