NEXT up for the overall winner of Todmorden Agricultural Show's overall champion is the Great Yorkshire Show.
The Belgium Blue beast owned by Mr W. Timms won him the T. Trafford Cup and will be entered in the Great Yorkshire Show held at Harrogate this month.
This year's reserve champion was a Bonde owned by Mr W. Seals, and Mr Seals was awarded the W. Smith Cup.
A new trophy was awarded in the section this year, the Jim Bracewell Memorial Plate being awarded to Mr and Mrs Severn, whose beef shorthorn bull Vulcan of Upsal was champion any other native breed.

- WINNING best in show - and best milker - in Todmorden Agricultural Show's goat section for the second year running, this year's event proved a very successful one for a teenager.
Michsica Capricole, owned and bred by 15 year old Jessica Hagain of Halifax, once again defeated the competition.
Best Goatling was Philday Darcy owned and bred by Mr R Parkin of Howden, and Best Kid was Maxson Shamuti owned and bred by Mrs M Hagain of Halifax.

- SOME of the arts and crafts winners were Walsden St Peter's School, who won the Calligraphers' Trophy (pictured above) and Cornholme School pupil Lucas Sorrell (pictured right), who won the Mrs Greenwood Trophy for best exhibit by a local boy.
In the pastels and paintings section last week's edition reported the pre-school playgroup section winner as Saffron Walters - it should be Saffron Williams - our apologies, Saffron.
