FRIENDS have paid tribute to the late Sarah Royle by putting together a special book.

Sarah, who tragically died after falling from a balcony in Singapore in June 2010, was a big fan of sharks and to acknowledge that fact her friends called the book “shark tail”.

Put together by Sarah Fielding, Abbie Ireson and Carly Mack, the book was presented to Sarah’s sisters - Jo and Premsa - on the first anniversary of her death during a remembrance trip to Bridlington.

The Royle family make the trip to the coastal town in East Riding every year on the anniversary of Sarah’s death and Jo said this year would be the first time they could truly appreciate their sister’s life after finally getting answers to how she died at an inquest in Singapore.

“The first year about 50 of us went over and we scattered half of Sarah’s ashes on the sea off a pirate ship we hired,” said Jo. “We then did the same last year.

“It was nice to see the amount of people who turned up, but for me and Premsa we couldn’t enjoy it because we didn’t know the circumstances in which Sarah died.

“But this year is the first time we know what happened and we can celebrate her life in peace.”

Jo, who said family and friends would be going to Bridlington in June, thanked Sarah, Abbie and Carly for putting the book together, which she said was a great comfort to the family. She also said that there was still space for people to share their memories of Sarah in the book.

“I’d like to say how special it is for me and Premsa to have this book and how touching it is to read all the comments that people have taken the time to write about their memories of Sarah,” she said.

“Thank you to Fiona Norton, Michael Herbert, Chloe Oldman, Lucinda, Rory Coop, Angie Brown, Jake Manders, Becky Day, Helen Tynan, Rose Hannah Hartley, Sarah Fielden, Maddy Duke, Lydia and Nick, Cerchelle Tighe, Katie Hyatt, Josie, Kath, Tony and Hollie, Abbie and Sam Ireson, Meds, Jennie Wild, Julie Riccardi, Callum Mack, Sasha and Heidi - who all commented in the book.”

Michael Herbert wrote in the book: “Sarah you touched so many people’s lives in your short time on this planet. I just can’t get my head around how someone like you can be taken from us.”
