LOCAL models and fashion outlets were used to put together an international hair, make-up and fashion shoot by a Calder Valley salon.
International fashion photographer Vince Broderick was covering the shoot arranged by Stone Hair Art, Burnley Road, Todmorden, which is under the creative direction of top stylist Loucas. Loucas, who began his career at Vidal Sassoon’s Bond Street salon and whose work has included extensive film and theatre work, said the images will be sent out to hair magazines worldwide.
“The theme really was ‘mix and match’ using clothing and acessories from Todmorden fashion outlets and home grown models,” he said. “We have people coming into the salon from different areas and spending their money in the town. Here we are working with other Todmorden busineses and Todmorden people to create something that brings people to Todmorden.”
Fashions were provided by Halo, Todmorden, and Birds and Bea, Todmorden, with jewellery from Charlie Brown’s, Todmorden. Make-up was done by Blackburn College students and Loucas created styles which included a striking pink “Marie Antoinette” look and use of hair extensions to create a blue “hat” effect.
