Todmorden

The Flower Festival at St Michael and All Angels Church, Cornholme, runs from July 2-4. The 'Holy Days and Holidays' themed event is open on Friday from 2-4pm, on Saturday from 11am until 4pm and on Sunday from 12.30pm until 3pm. Admission is 2.

The monthly Strictly Vinyl night featuring Todmorden soul, shaking house and electro with the regular DJs will take place at the Venue nightclub, Bridge Street, on Friday July 2 from 11pm until 4am.

The next Todmorden Walkabout will take place on Sunday July 4, starting at 11.15am outside Morrison's main entrance and lasting about two hours. New walkers are asked to arrive at 11am. For more information, contact walk leader Karen Andrews on 01706 819118 or Louise Castro on 01706 819617.

The Centre Stage Festival of Brass gets underway on Sunday July 4 with a performance by Todmorden Community Band at the bandstand in Centre Vale Park from 3-5pm. For more information, visit www.atouchofbrass.org.

Enkelit, a vocal ensemble which sings contemporary unaccompanied Finnish music, will be performing at Central Methodist Church on Sunday July 4 at 7pm. Tickets priced 7 (concessions 5) are available on the door.

The Roger Higgins Band comes to the Trades Club on Friday July 2 as part of Hebden Bridge Arts Festival. The band will be performing with well-known jazz guitarist Gary Boyle. The Steiner Summer Fair will be held at Holme Street Arts Centre on Saturday July 3 from 11am until 4pm. There will be children's activities, stalls, music, a puppet show, face painting and a cafe at the event. Entry by donation.

A guided walk around the village of Heptonstall will take place on Saturday July 3, exploring the places and landscapes which inspired poet and writer Ted Hughes.
