The buzz surrounding the upcoming Lamplighter festival is reaching fever pitch as the pre-event workshops are set to begin.

Lantern-making workshops start this weekend in Todmorden and Hebden Bridge, giving people chance to create a lantern to form part of the parade.

Sessions will be held at Todmorden High School on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until noon and 2-4pm, and at the Handmade Parade’s Victoria Works base, Victoria Road, Hebden Bridge, on Saturday from 10am until noon and 2-4pm.

Workshops will also be held at the high school on Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6pm and at Victoria Works on Monday and Wednesday from 4-6pm.

An open volunteers’ meeting will be held at the Bear cafe, Rochdale Road, Todmorden, tonight (Thursday).

Organisers are also appealing for donations to help stage the event. Visit https://localgiving.com/charity/handmadeparade.
