PICASSO style artwork created by pupils at six primary schools has gone on show at Platform One Gallery, Todmorden railway station.

Year six pupils from Cornholme, Castle Hill, Ferney Lee, Shade, Todmorden C of E and Walsden St Peter’s schools have been working with Claire Sargeant, Todmorden High School’s community art teacher, to learn new art skills and techniques and then produce their own pieces of work.

The exhibition, which opened last week, features clay models, print making, oil pastel portraits and paper collages.

The children have also produced monsters made from felt, card and socks.

Claire said: “The vibrant, colourful and inspiring exhibition is a must for everyone.

“There are some stunning art creations on display.”

Artist Jack Jarman, from Platform One Gallery, said: “It’s the biggest exhibition of the year.

“It’s my favourite.”

The exhibition will run until the end of July.

The gallery is open from Thursday to Sunday, 11am until 4pm each day.
