HARRY Potter star Daniel Radcliffe branches out into a new direction at Hebden Bridge Picture House this week.

Radcliffe stars in classic ghost story The Woman in Black, which tells the tale of Arthur Kipps, a lawyer who is forced to leave his young son and travel to a remote village to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House.

Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps begins to uncover the town’s tragic and tortured secrets and his fears escalate when he discovers that local children have been dying under mysterious circumstances.

The film is showing from Friday until Sunday, and on March 22.

Before that, Keira Knightley and Michael Fassbender star in A Dangerous Method tonight (Thursday) at 7.45pm.

The period piece set in early 20th century Switzerland examines the early days of psychoanalysis.

Vanessa Hudgens and Dwayne Johnson star in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island on Saturday and Sunday.

The family adventure begins when young Sean Anderson receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island.

Together with his stepfather, they set out to find the island and rescue its lone inhabitant.

Charlize Theron stars in Young Adult on Sunday and Monday.

She plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen fiction who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart.

Chronicle, the story of three high school students who make an incredible discovery, is showing on Tuesday and Wednesday.
