Whole host of Hollywood stars

THERE will be many Hollywood stars on screen at Hebden Bridge Picture House this week.

George Clooney stars in The Descendants this morning (Thursday) at 10.30am,

That will be followed by action thriller Haywire, featuring Ewan McGregor and Michael Douglas, at 7.45pm.

It tells the story of Mallory Kane, a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the most dangerous corners of the world.

War Horse will be showing from Friday until Tuesday.

Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, the film begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him.

When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves though the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets.

Like Crazy, winner of The Grand Jury directorial award at last year’s Sundance Festival, will be screened on Saturday and Sunday.

Keira Knightley and Michael Fassbender star in A Dangerous Method on Wednesday.

The period piece examines the early days of psychoanalysis.

In early 20th century Switzerland, Carl Jung, a disciple of father of psychotherapy Sigmund Freud, begins to treat a seriously disturbed young woman, Sabina Spielrein.

But as their relationship becomes dangerously intimate, Jung begins to wonder whether Freud’s theories are not fatally flawed.
