DECKED in black and orange Todmorden Town Hall played host to an extravaganza fashion show with a Hallowe'en theme.
Shirley Fielder, who organised the fundraiser with Margaret Griffin, said the two night show had been a huge success raising £4,500 for Overgate Hospice, the Mayor of Todmorden's mayoral charity, and Forget-Me-Not Trust.

"It was an excellent do; everyone really enjoyed it and we raised a lot of money for the two charities at the same time," said Shirley.

"When people came into the town hall they didn't know what to expect: we totally changed the place with the lighting, which gave it a great atmosphere. The town hall was decorated in black and orange for Hallowe'en; it did look really good. It's hard work organising it but we have reaped the rewards."

The event took place over two nights with 160 tickets sold each evening and the organisers hope to hold another event next year.

"All the shops that took part have had a good response as with the tickets many shops gave a ten per cent discount. And I know there are shops that would like to take part next year."

Shirley thanked Acer for doing the lighting and music, TAODS for the loan of the lighting equipment and the sponsors.
