IT'S a mixed bag this week with fighting children, murder, here and down under, good British food and Celine Dion there's bound to be something for everyone.
Fight Club was an excellent film but maybe the accepted use of violence is getting a little out of hand. In Strictly Baby Fight Club (Channel 4, Thurs) we get a rare insight into child Thai boxing, one of the fastest-growing martial arts in the UK.
Children as young as four or five are becoming the latest recruits to organised fighting, where some people's attitude is: if you're good enough to fight, you're old enough.
The programme enters the competitive and sometimes obsessive worlds of four families who are investing everything into training their kids to be the best young fighters in Britain.
When a dog unearths human remains in a wood, Boyd and his Cold Case Squad manage to make a connection with a decapitated corpse discovered two years previously, close to an army barracks, in Waking The Dead - Duty and Honour (BBC One, Mon). The mystery leads to a regimental dinner at the barracks where the team soon find themselves embroiled in a high-level cover-up.
For murder Australia-style a new daytime series Out Of The Blue (BBC One, Mon - Fri) introduces us to a group of thirty-something friends preparing to return to their home for a high school reunion. Celebrations, however, are brought to an abrupt halt when, after a night of partying, one of the gang is found dead.
As the remainder of the group and their friends and families become embroiled in a murder investigation, friendships are challenged and loyalties are torn as they set out to discover who the killer is.
Back to Britain we concentrate on food in the Great British Menu (BBC Two, Mon) It's Noel McMeel versus Danny Millar this week, as the chefs from Northern Ireland go head to head to secure a place in the final of the competition.
It's going to be a tough choice for the judges, as both chefs set the bar very high in the qualifying stage of the competition.
With high expectations set from the chefs, coupled with Northern Ireland being well known for the fine quality of local produce available, the judges will be anticipating food of the highest standards as Danny and Noel battle it out to see who will fly the flag for Northern Ireland in the final of the competition.
For something totally different you could tune in to Céline Dion – Live In Las Vegas (BBC One, Sun). Céline Dion has sold over 155 million albums worldwide, making her one of the biggest-selling female artists of all time. This special programme – filmed at the Coliseum in Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas – captures an outstanding performance by the legendary vocalist in which she sings her classic songs as well as her latest hits.
The show is a passionate combination of Céline's performance, technical innovation, theatre and dance – which, together, create a unique visual experience of her songs.
