Alzheimers Society representative Julie Lee received the cheque for more than 2,000 from football event organiser Steve Crowther

Alzheimers Society representative Julie Lee receives a cheque for £2213.42 from Todmorden football event organiser Steve Crowther, who organised a big benefit game to give something back and to thank in some small way all those people which helped in the care of his dad, Steve Crowther senior, who suffered with the illness for about eight years.

More than 100 players supported the event, a 24-hour five-a-side game, and Steve and his family thank all those who backed the event too. Steve also wants to do some more fund raising for the Alzheimers Society in the future.
