PLANS to use part of land at Tipside for storage of vehicles, mechanical diggers, caravans and equipment used as a builder's yard and use of land as a car park (lawful development certificate) have been submitted to Calderdale Council.
The application is being made by Jupiter Investments (Halifax) Ltd, Vale Mill, Robinson Street, Rochdale.
Documents submitted with the application by Jupiter explain the company seeks to regularise an existing and long established situation with r
egard to buildings and uses on the land in question under the provisions of Section 192 of the Town and Country Planning Act.
It is intended to define and regularise those uses that have been carried on for more than ten years in buildings that have existed for more than ten years on land within the applicant's ownership, say supporting documents they have submitted with their application.
The land is situated north of the public path and play area, closer to the railway line, which shares an access at the Todmorden Market end of Tipside.
Other plans submitted to the council between August 18 and 24 include proposals to replace lock gates with minor alterations at a Todmorden canal lock by the Rochdale Canal Company at Old Royd Lock No. 17 on the Rochdale canal between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge (listed building consent).
The company have submitted the plans through the Waterways Trust at Gloucester Docks, Gloucester. It is among plans received by Calderdale Council between August 18 and 24.
Also included on this list of applications are the following: Conversion of existing garage to living accommodation and construction of a two-storey side extension including proposed new garage at 10 Manor Close, Todmorden, for Mr and Mrs C. Sullivan.
Detached garage and store to side of dwelling at Cherry Tree Cottage, Woodhouse Road, Todmorden, for Mr A. Butterworth; dormer extension to front and rear (retrospective) at 26 Ashenhurst Close, Todmorden, for Mrs E. Tendler; agricultural storage building and stables at land opposite Blarney Castle, Lumbutts Road, Todmorden.
The 21 days for receipt of representations on these applications began on August 29.
