TWO police community support officers opened a new RSPCA charity shop in Todmorden.
PCSOs Pat Hirst and Faye Mitchell cut the ribbon at the shop, on Burnley Road, which is now open for business.

Shirley Mellor, from the RSPCA, said she hoped it would be a success.

“There has been quite a lot of interest so far,” she said.

“Fingers crossed it will all go well.

“Anybody who would like to give us donations, they will be gratefully received.

“We really need support from the local community to keep us ticking over.

“All money raised will go directly to the RSPCA.”

Shirley added the RSPCA boundaries have changed recently and Todmorden now comes under the Rochdale area.

Anybody who has an animal welfare issue they would like to raise should contact the animal welfare centre in Rochdale.
