LACK of funds and available time slots have scuppered the chances for an extension to bus services, town councillors heard.
Todmorden Town councillors on the development committee were disappointed with Metro's response to their request for a bus service to link Todmorden with Cross Stone and Blackshaw Head by extending an existing service. Town councillors had taken the matter up after Cross Stone community group had approached the council asking for its support.

In a letter to the council Metro said there was not enough time available in the schedules and the extended service would cost more money in bus maintenance and driver hours. Metro also said Rural Bus Challenge funds were no longer available from the Department of Transport.

Councillors will write to Metro again voicing their disappointment.
