TWO teenagers and a man - all from Todmorden - have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a disabled man in Cornholme near midnight last Wednesday.
Police arrested a 17-year old at 3am on Saturday and later arrested a second 17-year old and a 21-year old.

The three, all from the Todmorden area are being held in custody at Halifax Police Station.

Damian Shepherd, 42, who has cerebral palsy, suffered extensive head and face injuries following an attack by a gang of three in Cornholme just before midnight on Wednesday.

He is being treated at the Royal Oldham Hospital where he remains in intensive care and on a ventilator.

The three, all from Todmorden, are currently being held in custody at Halifax Police Station.

They have also been charged with assault following a similar attack on a 25-year-old man on April 23.

The man was assaulted in the same location as Mr Shepherd.

Detective Inspector, Tony Nicholson, for Halifax CID said: "This was another case where a passer-by has been set upon by a group with no other motive other than assault."

The three are due to appear before Calderdale magistrates tomorrow.
