POLISH visitors will be shown the delights of Todmorden when they visit the town this weekend.
Schools, homes for the elderly, a church, mosque and brewery are all on the list for the 14 visiting dignitaries from the village of Wapno, situated in the district of Wagrowiec. They arrive on Saturday for a four day visit.

ill give the Polish guests an opportunity to see schools, nursing homes and local councils in action in Britain, as well as meet the mayors of Todmorden and Calderdale.
Three police officers, assistant commander, Przemyslaw Dorniak; police inspector, Waldek Rojtek and community police officer, Jacek Gurda, will be shown the beat in Todmorden by PC Martin Langan.
And they will be joined by the Mayor of Wapno, Andrzej Bak, who has been mayor for 16 years; the director of nursing homes, Gabriela Markiewicz; the co-ordinator of nursing homes in the Wagrowiec District, Anna Popiel; the manager of social services in Wapno, Grzegorz Pietrzycki; director of the secondary school and gym, Coun Malgorzata Alwin; director of nursery schools in Wapno, Zbigniew Bilski; local councillor Henryk Rogalski; director of the junior school in Wapno, Malgorzata Alwin and the director of learning difficulties, Ostapuuk Lucyna.
The catholic priest from St Barbara Church in Wapno, Father Adam Dyderski, and businessman and farmer, Eugeniusz Tarasko will also make the trip to Todmorden. Father Dydersski is overseeing the work to build a new church in Wapno, for which Todmorden has donated funds for a stained glass window. Mr Tarasko has over 18 thousand hectares of land and forest, owns one of Poland's agricultural manure factories, is the main sponsor of the football club Kinga and is a translator for the police.
Community leaders from Todmorden paid a visit to Wagrowiec in November last year to forge links between the two towns. The delegation of teachers, police officers, religious leaders and local politicians enjoyed their four day trip and are keen to repay the kindness when the Polish visitors arrive.
