Annual tourism conference date

CALDERDALE Council, in collaboration with Welcome to Yorkshire, hosts its annual tourism conference today (Thursday).

The event will celebrate all that Calderdale has to offer.

Pam Warhurst, chairwoman of Calderdale Tourism Board, said more than 80 delegates will attend the conference at Halifax Minster.

“It’s a fantastic turnout and demonstrates the value of the visitor economy in Calderdale and the proactive approach of our businesses, which makes Calderdale a fantastic place to visit,” she said.

The tourism economy is currently worth £250m in Calderdale and supports 4,500 jobs.
