Appeal after boy is racially abused

BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for information after a boy was racially abused on board a train.

The victim, a boy who was travelling with a friend on board the 22.38pm Northern Rail service from Hebden Bridge to Todmorden on May 12, was left upset and shaken by the ordeal.

PC Roberto Dicorato said: “A 44-year-old man from Todmorden was arrested at Todmorden station following the incident. We are conducting local inquiries into the incident and ask anyone who may have been on the train and have witnessed the incident or have any information that could help our investigation to come forward.”
