MEMBERS of the public will have a chance to inspect Asda’s proposals for a new store in Todmorden when the plans go on display on Friday, August 17.
Asda has been named the “end user” for Property Alliance Group’s planning appeal for the Halifax Road site.
If the appeal is successful, Asda would build a 20,000 sq ft store with a full spectrum of its products including George clothing.
Up to 160 new jobs would be created.
The proposal includes provision for 173 car parking spaces.
Asda’s plans will be on public display at Todmorden Town Hall from 10am until 8pm.
Philip Bartram, Asda senior property communications manager, said: “We are looking forward to discussing our plans for a new store on Halifax Road with the local community. Our plans will represent a significant investment in Todmorden and give more supermarket choice to shoppers in the town.
“We are also keen to hear the views of the local community on what uses they would like to see on the vacant site on Burnley Road.”
