Todmorden’s Oak group held its Easter Bonnet cmpetition at its last meeting before breaking for the Easter holidays.

Held at the Central Methodist Church Hall in Bramsche Square, there were lots of entries and judging was difficult but judges Coun David and Mrs Susan O’Neil finally choose three hats and the winners all received Easter eggs .

Oak would like to thank all those who took part, and alsdo the Oak Singers, who provided the entertainment.

A spokesperson for Oak said: “Thanks also to David and Susan for their time, and a special thanks to Morrisons supermarket for their very generous donation of Easter eggs.”

Oak is a community organisation run by and for people over 50 in the Todmorden area.

There is a full day of activities held at Central Methodist Churcgh on Fridays, from 10am to 3pm, with dancing, tai chi and craft sessions and more t0o try your hand at.

“Why not come and join us to try out the activities, get involved as a volunteer or drop in for a drink, lunch and a chat?” said the spokesperson.
