A brewery has sealed parliamentary approval after one of its ales was made available on tap in the House of Commons.

Cragg Vale Bitter, made by Cragg Vale’s Little Valley Brewery, has been chosen as a guest beer at the Strangers Bar to celebrate the Tour De France coming to the Calder Valley in 2014.

The brewery’s co-founder Sue Cooper attended an event to celebrate the beer’s arrival at the pumps, which was hosted by Calder Valley MP Craig Whittaker and attended by members of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group.

Mr Whittaker said: “Little Valley Brewery is a fantastic example of an independent, local enterprise. It produces excellent beers of great taste and quality and I am delighted that MPs from all parts of Britain will have the chance to enjoy this incredible Yorkshire ale.”
