A coach driver has set up a new business venture offering trips to mind-expanding events with the aim of improving people’s outlook on life.
David Macdonald has formed Next Tour, which runs coach trips to places of historic interest around the UK.
But David, who is a master practitioner in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), not only hopes to give them a good day out - he also aims to help them see things differently.
“When I take people out in the coach, I try to change their state of mind to get them in a happy state,” he said.
“If they get on board feeling depressed, I try to put them in a happy state.
“When they get on the bus, I paint pictures in their minds to make things better.
“I deliver motivational messages to help change their state of mind.
“I also use meditation, getting them to remember a time when they were happy and use that as an anchor to bring them back to a happy place.
“It’s about helping people see things differently and help them overcome things.
“People need that these days.”
David, who has run a garage in Todmorden for many years, is a qualified driver with eight years’ experience driving coaches.
He also has membership of the Coach Drivers Club and the Institute of Advanced Motoring commercial division.
Tours include trips to Rosslyn Castle near Edinburgh and other sites of historic beauty.
The next event will be a visit to the Caravan and Camping exhibition at the NEC on Saturday, February 22. There are still a few places available.
Next month, David will be running a trip to Crufts.
David is looking to expand the business by hiring out the minibus for small groups and for companies to hold motivational events.
His plans also include purchasing additional vehicles and employing more staff.
