Christmas sparkle with fizz at Rigg’s

Gordon Rigg Garden Centre, Walsden, launched its 70th Christmas with free festive fizz and sweet treats all round last Saturday.

Managing Director Pauline Rigg stated that she hopes this celebration will become an annual event. Mayor of Calderdale, Coun Lisa Lambert, gave a superb opening speech and then did the honours of switching on the Christmas lights as white sheets were simultaneously removed to reveal Gordon Rigg’s final Christmas display, depicting Father Christmas in a vintage red Austin 7 collecting his Christmas tree from Gordon Rigg’s forest.

The Mayor said she was very impressed after looking around the Todmorden Christmas displays, mill shop and cafe. More pictures of the day can also be viewed on the business’s - it has a Rochdale store as well as the one at Walsden - Facebook page.
