The new owner of a key development site in Todmorden has been revealed.
The Halifax Road gateway site was sold prior to an auction in London in July.
At the time, the buyer was not named but has now been revealed as Spring Petroleum Company Ltd.
The business activity of the firm, based in Batley, is described as “retail sale of automotive fuel in specialised stores”.
The purchase price of the site has still not been disclosed.
News of the new owner has led to speculation of another petrol filling station being built on the land off Halifax Road.
The site used to house a petrol station in the past.
Calderdale Council is looking to meet with the new owner to discuss its plans for the site.
Coun Barry Collins, cabinet member for economy and environment, said: “The council had planned to make an offer for the site some weeks ago, only to find at the last minute that it had been sold outside the planned auction.
“We will now be seeking an early meeting with the new owner to discuss their intentions for the site.”
