A businessman has been invited to a ceremony at the House of Commons after winning an award for mentoring.
Adrian Ashton, of Todmorden, will receive the award from the Institute for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, a national body that aims to stimulate and encourage start-ups through mentoring.
“It feels great to have this recognition,” he said.
“I support enterprise in small businesses as best I can because I think it’s the right thing to be doing.
“As a small business practitioner, it’s sometimes hard to know if you are doing it the right way.
“To have this recognition is a real boost and it’s encouraging to know that I’m doing a good thing.
“It will spur me on to keep doing more good things for businesses in the upper Calder Valley.”
He is unable to attend the London event but will be sending a video message instead.
