Calderdale schools to be disrupted ahead of new term

Calderdale schools will be disrupted ahead of the new term following the floods over the holiday.

Four schools have been disrupted due to the flooding and there are new arrangements in place.

One school badly affected is Burnley Road Academy in Mytholmroyd.

From Tuesday January 5, Key Stage One pupils will be based at Saville Park Primary School’s Heath site, which is a purpose built school and learning environment while Key Stage 2 pupils will be going to Calder High.

Nursery provision will be provided from Monday January 11.

Year one pupils at Central Street Infant and Nursery school, Hebden Bridge, will need to go to Stubbings Infant School from Monday January 4.

Central Street school is aiming to open for all other pupils by Wednesday January 6, and this will be confirmed as soon as possible.

All classes will move to the first floor at Riverside junior school, Hebden Bridge, which is aiming to open for all pupils by Wednesday January 6.

From Tuesday January 5, all classes at Scout Road Academy, Mytholmroyd, will move to The Ark Children’s Centre for one week, pending further updates regarding access to school.
