A production of ‘Cats’ by Calder Valley Youth Theatre last November provided the purr-fect publicity for attracting new talent.

The annual Big Spring Show at the Ted Hughes Theatre, Calder High School, Mytholmroyd featured 40 of the most talented children from along the valley aged from eight to 18. They performed some of their favourite contemporary songs from the charts and from some of the most popular musicals from recent years.

Since the success of ‘Cats’ at Halifax Playhouse, the progressive youth theatre has been inundated with interest from local children who want to be on board. Next stop is the musical Grease at the Playhouse from November 13 to 16.
