THe first results of the 2011 census have shown a significant increase in Calderdale’s population.
Results show the borough’s population has risen by 11,400 people - or 5.9 per cent - over the past ten years.
Calderdale’s population currently stands at 203,800 according to figures released by the Office for National Statistics.
There were 104,200 females and 99,600 males resident in the borough on census day - March 27, 2011.
The male population has increased by 7.1 per cent, compared with an increase of 4.8 per cent for females.
The number of households has risen 9.5 per cent to 88,600.
