We’re calling time on booze crime

A PLAN to reduce alcohol misuse, alcohol related crime and improve community safety has been launched in the Calder Valley.

The Tackling the Harms of Alcohol Strategy involves the police, NHS, Calderdale Council, Alcohol Service, voluntary and community organisations uniting to increase awareness of sensible drinking levels, reduce alcohol-related health problems, anti-social behaviour and crime.

Inspector Derek Benn, Community Safety Partnerships Manager, said: “Reducing the harm caused by alcohol is a key priority.”
