Organisers of the dock pudding world championships have been left with a sting in the tail after bad weather meant they had to cancel their event,

A shortage of dock leaves because of the recent cold snap has meant the annual event, planned for this Sunday (April 14) has been cancelled.

Organiser Julie Wilby said: “There are no docks anywhere due to the weather so we’ve had to cancel it.

“It’s a big disappointment, but it will be back next year with a vengeance as long as the weather holds up.”

The planned car boot sale and craft and charity stall will still go ahead from around 8am in the car park at Mytholmroyd Community Centre.
