KEEN cyclist Adrian Lord has been reunited with his treasured bike after an appeal in these pages.
Mr Lord, 47, of Edge Hey Green, Colden, had left his bike secured in a locker at Hebden Bridge railway station and returned in the evening to discover the padlock smashed and his bike gone.
But he said yesterday: “I was very surprised but delighted to get a phone call from a man in Todmorden who was fairly certain that he’d bought my bike the day before seeing the article in the paper.
“The thief had given him some false ID and claimed to have bought the bike at a police auction. When I returned from holiday on Monday I went to see him and my bike was returned to me.”
