On Saturday, December 6, group members from Dementia Friendly Todmorden will be in and around the market place, distributing information and guidance on how we can all make a positive difference to the lives of those who live with Dementia.

Todmorden Fire Station Watch Commander Geoff Shaw said: “The group has been incredibly busy behind the scenes, training, learning and gathering information to make sure we’re as prepared and pro-active as possible.

“We want to make a real difference to the town.

“We can’t do it all on our own, so we’re keen to expand the group all over Todmorden.

“The more people we can make Dementia Aware, the better.”

Group leader Steph Booth and her team will be at the market from 9.30am until around lunchtime, offering practical advice, inviting new members and welcoming new ideas.

Members of the group already include Todmorden Chippy, Yorkshire Bank, Morrison’s, West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire Service, who will also be attending to offer fire safety advice in the home.
