MORE than 20 members of the Town Twinning Association from Bramsche visited Todmorden earlier this month.
The 27-strong group - including several new, young members, four staff from the St Martin’s House care home and long term members - was taken on a guided tour of Todmorden’s Incredible Edible gardens, looked around the Unitarian Church and other historic attractions and attended a social evening at the Fielden Centre.
They also visited the Wensleydale Cheese Factory at Hawes, Harlow Carr gardens in Harrogate, and went kayaking and walking at Hollingworth Lake.
This was followed by a barbecue in the garden of one of the association members. Sausages and burgers supplied by Stansfield butchers in the market and salad and fruit from the garden were on the menu.
Sue Thornton, chairwoman of Todmorden Town Twinning Association, said: “It was another wonderful trip with lots of new friendships being formed and enjoyed by all.”
