IT’S a double diamond celebration for Todmorden Mother’s Union members - and one in particular!

They met at St Mary’s Church, Todmorden, not only to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee but also that of of Iris Barker, who has been a member for 60 years.

Members wore red white and blue and enjoyed cakes and bucks fizz.

MU branch leader Janet Brear said: “It is a a wonderful achievement, involving working to support families in Todmorden and also around the world. Iris shared her memories from 60 years ago and the many enjoyable times she has had during those years.

MU members will again be supporting families by providing baby changing facilities at Todmorden Agricultural Show this year.

Janet added: “Come along and say hello we are always glad to meet you - and Mothers Union is open to men and ladies.”
