Hebden Royd Churches Together are holding a number of events leading up to and continuing beyond Easter.

On Palm Sunday, March 20, at 2pm they will be handing out palms around the centre of Hebden Bridge and then at 3pm the giant cross will be raised at the hilltop site at Horsehold, which overlooks the town.

The cross will then stay up until Pentecost.

On Good Friday, March 25, the Stations of the Cross service takes place around Hebden Bridge, and starts at noon from Hebden Bridge Town Hall.

On Easter Sunday, at approximately 6.50am, a “Sonrise” service will take place at Horsehold, Hebden Bridge.

Individual churches will be carrying out their own services.

On May 15, Pentecost Sunday, musical celebrations will be held at 2pm at Hebden Royd Methodist Church, Market Street, Hebden Bridge.

l In Todmorden, the town’s churches come together was the Good Friday Walk of Witness, which takes place from 11.15am from St Joseph’s Church on Wellington Road, making its way through Todmorden town centre and pausing for music - usually from members of Todmorden Community Band - and a short service at the Peace Garden next to Todmorden Town Hall.

Individual churches will be hosting their own Easter programme of services.
