THERE were tears and laughter as pupils put on a leavers’ assembly to remember.

Year six children from Castle Hill Primary School banged out musical hits including “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now” by McFadden and Whitehead, and parodied teachers to a standing ovation from an audience of family, friends and school representatives.

Headteacher Hannah Mulholland said: “I think the assembly was fantastic and the music that the children chose was really appropriate for their leaving.

They’ve been a lovely and hard-working year group and a credit to their parents.”
