My name is Seren and I am a new year seven student at Todmorden High School.

I came from Hebden Royd Primary school.

I think Todmorden High School is amazing and I look forward to coming to school every morning.

I really enjoy English and while I was at Hebden Royd Primary School I entered the John Clarke Poetry Competition for the under 12s.

I was thrilled to win first prize for my poem as there were over 400 entries.

On Sunday September 22 I went to Peterborough to be presented with my prize by Benjamin Zephaniah.

His advice to me was: “Keep writing and stay great.”

Outside school, I really enjoy horse riding and I have recently taken my D test.

I am not too sure what I want to do when I leave school but I would like to do something where I can help people and help the environment.
