A centre which offers a lifeline to adults with physical disabilities across Calderdale has had to close citing unsustainable financial costs.
The day centre at the Calder Valley Club in Mytholmroyd, which had annual running costs of £170,000, folded on Thursday.
It served 25 users from across the district.
Eight staff have been made redundant and a volunteer has also left.
Trustee Father John Gott, who insisted the charity itself had not folded and retained all its assets, thanked the staff for their hard work and said meetings were taking place to discuss the charity’s future.
