Environment Agency’s Lord Chris Smith on his way to Todmorden

ENVIRONMENT Agency chiefs will be in Todmorden this afternoon to inspect floodworks and meet people.

Lord Chris Smith, who is chairman of the Environment Agency will be in the Rochdale Road area of the town around mid-afternoon to meet people and see floodworkings near Morrison’s supermarket, accompanied by the EA’s area flood risk manager Sue O’ Neill.

The agency is monitoring weather conditions over the next two days as there are concerns about the weather particularly on Friday and the early hours of Saturday.
