IF the wonderful animals are the main attraction at Todmorden Show, don’t forget there are a range of special attractions throughout the day!
Taking place in the events ring, they begin in late morning and continue through the afternoon.
The Ben Slinger Bicycle Display Team start proceedings at 11am and they will appear again at 1.15pm. These trials bikers have British, European and World championship titles to their credit, so expect to be entertained!
At 11.40am and again at 2pm, Ben Potter’s Birds of Prey displays are in the spotlight. Ben brings two differing eagle and vulture flying shows, which promises to be a stirring sight.
Then at 12.30pm and again at 2.45pm, the Welsh Axemen will be demonstrating their skills in chainsaw carving, man versus machine chainsaw races, standing and underhand block races and a springboard tree climb.
Throughout the day Todmorden Community Brass will be providing music from the historic bandstand and to add some period flavour, Mr Peter Palmer adds a traditional touch with his Victorian Fairground Organ.
For those wanting to party on into the evening, see the show’s website www.todshow.org for details on how to obtain tickets for the Party In The Park which runs from 7.30pm to 12.30am in the members’ marquee.
This year’s show, following a successful first event last year, features the highly-rated rock band Full Circle plus top soul DJs Ginger Taylor and Bob Smith who will be spinning classic Tamla and northern sounds.
