AFTER three years, the final Steve Tilston’s Trades Roots gig at Hebden Bridge Trades Club for a while will be headlined by up-and-coming talent Ewan McLennan next Thursday, March 10 (9pm).
During the series Steve has brought many of the biggest names in folk roots music to the club but is taking time out to complete his own new album.
Roots gigs will still take place within the wider framework but for his own imprint, Steve will open the show before McLennan, whose classical influenced folk guitar style has been described as “stunning” takes the stage.
His music combines styles from around Britain and beyond with a strong influence from Scotland, where he was brought up.
l ON a different note, real ale fans will welcome the return to the club of “extreme beer tasting” this Sunday (March 6, 6pm to 10pm).
More than 20 beers are available and all will be over seven per cent gravity.
