It will be a day to remember for an upper Calder Valley family when a woman celebrates her 100th birthday next week.
Aldrienne Roberts, of Waterside Lodge, Todmorden, will reach the milestone on Tuesday, October 15, and will celebration the special occasion with her family.
Originally from Newport, Aldrienne came from a family of butchers.
In her younger days, she worked in a butchers’ shop in South Wales.
She was married to Gordon, who was a teacher, for many years.
Aldrienne was from a large family and has one surviving sister, Rita.
She has led a very active life and was living in her own home in the upper Calder Valley until the age of 93, when she moved into Waterside Lodge.
She continued driving until she was 90.
Her hobbies include crochet, watching football and sitting in the garden.
She also likes spending time with her family, including her grandchildren Jadee Robinson and David Cooper, and four great-grandchildren, who will all be visiting her to mark the milestone day on Tuesday.
