Fire service called after schoolgirl gets foot caught in drain

Firefighters were called after a schoolgirl got her foot caught in a drain.

The incident happened just outside Todmorden High School, Burnley Road, Todmorden, at 3.12pm today (Wednesday).

One appliance from Todmorden attended and after giving the 14-year-old Todmorden High pupil pain relief, a number of firefighters lifted her to freedom.

The girl suffered minor bruising to her ankle and her mum took her to hospital as a precaution.
