PETROL heads are gearing up for one of the most popular events in the Calder Valley.
The Hebden Bridge Rotary Club’s Vintage Car Weekend returns to Calder Holmes Park, New Road, from 10am to 5pm, on Saturday, August 4, and Sunday, August 5.
With more entries rolling in than ever before, organisers are hoping for a bumper crowd and a memorable day.
Ian Richardson, from the club, said: “The weekend is now established as a premier event attracting veteran, vintage and classic cars, motor cycles and commercial vehicles from all over the north of England and beyond.”
There will be more for petrol heads to admire this year, with the addition of classes for tractors and motor scooters being introduced for the first time.
Mr Richardson said: “In addition to the huge display of vehicles, stalls, autojumbles, live music and much more, the organisers have this year arranged for a greater range of quality catering, including outlets for Indian food, crepes, special teas and coffees, ice creams, hot and cold roast sandwiches and more.”
The funds raised from the event are mainly distributed to local charities and the rotary club is confident that the event will be great value and the best yet, with attractions for families and motoring enthusiasts alike.
The event will be celebrating its 30th year. The first rally was held in 1983 and new cars on display in dealers’ showrooms that year are now eligible to attend the Saturday Rally.
