It’s hard to think of summer during these short grey winter days, but plans are already well underway for the 2011 Hebden Bridge Arts Festival in June.

Organisers are busy lining up an exciting and varied programme of theatre, music and drama and are now inviting local artists to take part by publicising their exhibitions or events in the widely-distributed brochure and on the festival website.

The festival is also asking for local businesses who would like to take out a listing or sponsor a festival event, to get in touch.

Co-ordinator Rebecca Yorke said: “We know these are difficult times for many, but the festival works hard to promote the area and everything it has to offer to the rest of Calderdale and beyond.

“And it’s not just about attracting visitors to the area.

“The festival itself spends money locally on venues, accommodation, printing and design services and hospitality for our guests.

“We’d like to continue to build relationships with local businesses and services to create a festival we can all feel part of and proud of.”

The 2011 Festival will run between Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, July 10.

An Open Meeting is planned for March.

In the meantime, any artist or business who would like to have a listing in the programme should e-mail hbfestival@gmail.com or contact Rebecca during on 01422 842546 during office hours.

The deadline for inclusion is February 18.
