THE Youth Cafe at St Mary’s Church will be able to purchase new equipment thanks to a donation of £1,000 from local Freemasons.

Rev Jeanette Roberts, who helps to run the Youth Cafe, said the money would contribute towards the costs of vital equipment to sustain the life of the group.

So far, a new laptop computer has been purchased and wi-fi has been installed. “We are asking the kids what they would like to see,” Jeanette said.

“They have come up with ideas such as a pool table and we know they want a ‘chill out’ area with bean bags. We want them to come up with ideas because then they will respect it more.”

She thanked the Freemasons for their kind donation. “It will benefit the young people of Todmorden who come to the Youth Cafe,” she said.
