Guests gather for Lions’ annual charter dinner

MORE than 40 guests attended Todmorden Lions Club’s 33rd annual charter anniversary dinner.

Lions from Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Meltham, Colne Valley and Rochdale were in attendance at the event at Walsden Cricket Club, as well as Todmorden Leos president Robyn Stansfield.

Todmorden Lions president Michael Clarkson proposed the toast to Lions Clubs International. Past District Governor Cyril Goodridge responded on behalf of the International President.

Albert Blackburn, secretary of Todmorden Lions, said: “It was a good night enjoyed by all.”

Mayor of Todmorden Coun Richard White thanked the Lions for their donation his mayoral charity, the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team.

After dinner entertainment was provided by Todmorden singer Charlee.

The Lions are preparing for the annual duck race.
