HEALTH chiefs are encouraging men to take their health more seriously.
During men’s health week, which runs until June 17, NHS Yorkshire and Humber is urging men in the region to seek medical advice on a more regular basis.
The aim of the week is to raise awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease.
Paul Johnstone, director for public health at NHS North of England, said: “By ignoring a problem there is every possibility that you could be making it worse.
“Our advice is don’t be shy, get things checked early before they become a problem.”
