A Todmorden business ‘pumped up’ the pounds in a fitness fundraising mission for the mayor’s charities.
Members of Vale Street’s Boulderfit Climbing Skool took part in a Sunday climbing session and raised £52 for Independent Living - a group for adults with learning difficulties and Hippodrome Theatre, Halifax Road.
Boulderfit creator Steve Mason said a few class members took part in the 45 minute sponsored sessions - with one participant, Sarah, taking part in all three high intensity workouts on a boulder wall.
Steve said: “Sarah’s and the group’s achievement was a hell of an achievement.
“As a local business, we wanted to support local charities that bring a lot of good to the area. Thanks to all those who donated.”
Mayor of Todmorden, coun Michael Gill said he thinks local businesss support for his chosen charities is positive for the voluntary and business sectors.
He said: “It’s wonderful that Steve has supported our charities by holding the fundraiser which helps us and also helps establish his new business.
“I’ve spoke to him about some of our adults with learning difficulties using Boulderfit - hopefully this could be the start of a new mutual and beneficial relationship - which is great all round.”
